We boarded our long-haul flight from Hong Kong to Dallas—the final major leg of the journey.
At approximately 14 hours, it was a long flight, but for the first time in days, there was real opportunity for rest. Many on the team were able to sleep, and there was a shared sense of relief—knowing we were finally on the path home.
Back on U.S. Soil
Upon arrival in Dallas, the pace quickly shifted back to logistics:
Navigating immigration
Retrieving all checked luggage
Re-checking equipment and bags for the final leg
Even after a long journey, the process required patience and coordination—skills that had been well refined over the course of the mission.
With just over a 3-hour layover, the finish line was clearly in sight:
Dallas → Alexandria
Home.
Arrival
We are home.
After a minor landing delay, we made great time in the air and arrived safely. All bags and equipment were accounted for—no small detail considering everything that had traveled with us across the world.
And then—the moment we had all been waiting for.
Loved ones standing at the airport.
Smiles. Relief. Gratitude.
Big hugs all around.
A final team photo marked the close of the journey.
A Prayer of Gratitude
As this mission comes to an end, there is only one appropriate response: gratitude.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness throughout this trip.
For Your provision in every challenge, every delay, and every moment where more was required than we had—yet everything needed was provided.
We give You all praise and glory, knowing this work would not have been possible without You.
Thank You for:
Safe and smooth travels
Successful surgeries
Excellent patient outcomes
A unified and committed team
Lift up each team member—from those who traveled from the United States to our partners in Nepal. Continue to shape our hearts and guide our future work so that it may serve Your kingdom.
We pray for the patients we served:
For smooth and complete recoveries
For strength for their families
That their hearts may be drawn to Christ, or strengthened in their faith through the care they received
Thank You for allowing us to be part of this mission.
Thank You for calling each person who stepped forward to serve.
Final Reflection
This mission was never just about surgery.
It was about:
Serving others
Building relationships
Overcoming challenges
Living out our faith through action
We return home changed—grateful, humbled, and ready for what comes next.
“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” — Psalm 126:3
